WYDE-FM 101.1 Format Change- Classic Hits to Talk (2008/2009)
According to RadioandRecords.com, Crawford Broadcasting has let the WYDE-FM airstaff go. No word on what's in store for sister station, WYDE-AM 1260.
On Monday, October 20, the Laura Ingraham show was added to WYDE's lineup from 8 to 11 am. In addition, the syndicated Mancow talk show was added to WYDE's morning programming on Monday, November 10.
On Monday, January 26, WYDE added more talk programming to the remainder of their lineup, continuing their transition back to a talk format. The "Dennis Miller Show" was added to WYDE's morning lineup at 11 am, and the "Lee Davis Show", previously heard on "The Source" and currently heard on Crawford's WXJC-AM and FM (850 and 92.5), began broadcasting on WYDE-AM and FM from 2 pm to 6 pm as well. WYDE has also placed other talk programming, some Christian-based,
during the station's evening and late evening hours.
On Monday, March 2, WYDE resumed its on-air identity as "The Source", positioning themselves as Birmingham's only FM talk station.
